Ms. Carrie McGraw

Hello and welcome to 6th Grade Language Arts! 

I am so excited to be starting my fifth year at Trailside as a Language Arts teacher! I attended college in Pennsylvania, but I am originally from Lachine, Michigan (the tip of the pointer finger on the Michigan "hand map"). Being from Michigan means that I love any activity that can be done in a forest or on a lake (hiking, swimming, kayaking, etc.), so any advice on the best hiking spots in the area would be much appreciated! While I love the outdoors, I am also a big fan of curling up with a good book, a cup of tea, my latest knitting project, and my cats, George, Midna, and Minerva McGonagall. Some of my favorite authors include J. K. Rowling, John Green, Jane Austen, Neil Gaiman, and many, many more. 

I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Bachelor of Science in English Education. While in college, I was involved in many organizations including the English Honors Society, Sigma Tau Delta; the Robert E. Cook Honors College; and the student theater group, TOST and Turned, which I ran for two years.

I am very much looking forward to my fifth year of full-time teaching with Trailside Middle School. I can't wait to meet all of my students and their families and to get started on all of the wonderful things we're going to learn and create this year!
