My name is Tommy Meier and I am entering my 11th year as an academic classroom teacher and 9th year here at Broad Run High School. Along with being a classroom teacher, I have also had the opportunity to coach Spartan athletes in Varsity football, golf, and baseball. I currently serve as the Varsity baseball coach, alongside Pat Cassidy: English Teacher & former Head Baseball Coach (1996-2015), and Taylor Kewer: Guidance Counselor & Head Freshman Basketball Coach. I am thankful to work at an amazing school, with a first-class Social Studies Department, led by our Department Chair, Robyn Griffis.

Prior to coming to Broad Run, I taught World History at Union High School in Big Stone Gap, VA (2013) and the Wise County Career Technical Center in Wise, VA (2014). While teaching in Southwest Virginia, I had the opportunity to also coach Varsity baseball at Union High School. During the 2014-2015 school year, I taught Ancient & Modern World History at Langley High School in Great Falls, VA, while also coaching Varsity baseball at Herndon High School (2015).

I graduated from UVA-Wise in 2013 with a Bachelor's in History and a minor in Secondary & Special Education. I am a 2008 graduate of Broad Run High School, and nothing makes me happier than being back in my hometown, teaching kids from the neighborhoods I grew up in.

I believe ALL Spartans are capable of achieving success, and I promise to always help my students & players relentlessly pursue excellence.
