Mrs. Marlene Santos
I am thrilled to begin my nineth year at Trailside and my 22nd year with Loudoun County Public Schools. I have been dedicated to supporting our middle school students as they grow and learn during these formative years. I believe the best approach is by building positive collaborative relationships with students, staff, and families. Every day, I open my heart and mind to work with and learn from students, staff, and families.
My journey to Middle School Education began at Radford University where I earned a Bachelor’s of Science, focusing on the Middle School Learner. I continued my quest for learning at George Mason University where I earned a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (Integrating Technology into Education) as well as a Masters of Education in Education Leadership.
The 22 years I have spent in Middle School Education include teaching Math, Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies. Additionally, I have been a Technology Resource Teacher, Dean, and Assistant Principal. All of these experiences helped me grow professionally and personally.
I live in Ashburn with my husband of 25 years, our three beautiful daughters, and two dogs, Harley and Buddy. We live an active life centered around our daughters’ activities. When I am not cheering on my girls at softball and soccer, I am rooting for the amazing Pittsburgh Steelers!
I am looking forward to the joy and growth the 2023-2024 school year will bring. Please know that I am happy to help you and your student with any questions or concerns you may have. Feel free to contact me at 571-252-280 or e-mail me at marlene.santos@lcps.org.
