Hello and welcome to my 7th grade English website for Eagle Ridge Middle School! I am honored to be returning for my 6th year at ERMS and cannot wait for the learning adventures I will embark upon with your students during this 2019-2020 school year.
I grew up as a daughter of a Unites States Air Force military officer and as such, considered The World my "home" until I transplated into Virginia back in 2006. I have lived in the Philippines, Germany, and six states in the U.S. to include: Oregon, Alabama, Texas, Maryland, Florida, and Virginia. I graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Business Administration.
While at George Mason University, I volunteered with the College of Education and Human Development, tutoring "English Language Learners" with their coursework. This is where I found my love for teaching English Language Arts. I continued tutoring students, in all grade levels, in reading, writing, and SAT/ACT preparation. Shortly after graduating, I went onto Shenandoah University to obtain my Virginia teaching licensure for English Language Arts grades 6-12.
I currently live in Ashburn with my husband - Dustin, son - Easton(11), and daughter - Ivy(6), two cats, and hound dog. In my limited free time, I enjoy spending time with my family doing outdoor activities, practicing yoga & meditation, traveling, and reading for pleasure.
I look forward to teaching your students this year and am here to help in any way I can.
- Mrs. Rossell
