    My name is Velera Barksdale and I am a 6th grade Instructional Specialist. This year I will be teaching Language Arts and Reading Strategies in a self-contained environment. In addition, I will be providing support in team-taught classrooms as well. I have been working in education for 16 years. This is my fifth year in Loudoun County/Smart's Mill Middle School. I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Old Dominion University and a Master's in Special Education/Autism from Arizona State University.
