Almudena de Juana  is a native from San Sebastián, a city of the Basque Country located in the north of Spain. She has been working in Virginia for thirteen years but this is her third year teaching the Spanish language and culture at John Champe High School. Prior to working in Virginia she also taught in South Carolina. She truly loves building a sense of empathy and cross-cultural competency in her students by teaching her mother language and culture. She really hopes to pass on a new passion and interest that stays with them forever.

Ms. de Juana graduated from the University of the Basque Country with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in World Language, Literature and Linguistics. She also earned a second Master's degree in Translation English-Spanish.

Also, Ms. de Juana will sponsor the Spanish Club by planning cultural events related to the Spanish world.
