Welcome to Mr. Wickett's Fifth Grade Class

Hello, I am Thomas Wickett, and this is my first year at Buffalo  Trail Elementary School. I am very excited to being working in such a clean school filled with wonderful teachers and staff. I hold a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Bowie State University, which is located in the town I grew up in as a child. During my time at Bowie State, I played soccer, tennis and minored in Biology. My family is originally from the state of Maine where I spent all of my summers working at the family dairy as a youth. Additionally, I hold a Masters degree from the University of Virginia in Administration and Supervision.  I have been teaching fifth grade in Loudoun County for the last fifteen years. Previously, I worked for the Maryland Department of Education as a Rehabilitation Specialist working with transitioning youth and people with developmental disabilities in Montgomery County. Prior to working for the Maryland State Education Department, I worked as a special education teacher for Alliance Inc. in Dundalk, Maryland. My first teaching experience came from working at Tall Oaks High School for waywardly children. During my free time I enjoy activities with my two daughters and hiking.
