    Hello Riverside!
Welcome to Riverside 4.0!!  It's awesome to see how far we've come in four short years.  As part of the founding team, I remember working at Belmont Ridge anxiously awaiting move in day.  Now, we have over 1,800 students and the RAM FAM is firmly established.  Rams lead the way in all areas earning accolades in aademics, athletics, fine arts, extra-curriculars and more!
I look forward to working with you and your student(s).
    GO RAMS!!

    Work History
Prior to returning to education in 2000, I worked private sector in the areas of HR, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll.  When my daughter went to preschool, I went back to school with the "big kids" teaching High School Language Arts.  I served as a Department Chair and an Assistant Principal prior to joining LCPS.  I am now entering my 9th year as a High School Assistant Principal and 4th year at Riverside.  I absolutely love being an educator!
    What am I doing now..
Reading: A Guide to Collaboration for IEP Teams by Nicholas R.M. Martin and Bad Blood by John Carreyrou.  This changes often as I am an avid reader.  This summer I read professional books and personal books; I also like keeping up with the YA books that our students are reading.
Professionally: At Riverside we continue to focus on Communication, Fundamental 5 and Curriculum Standards alignment.  I am the AP for SpEd at RVHS - a true passion of mine.  We are getting bigger and better, every day - literally.  The growth has been tremendous!  I will also be supervising the RVHS Science Department for the first time and look forward to the new collaboration.  I'm working on improving my tech skills - Google Classroom and Blackboard are my latest endeavors.
Doctorate Program: The end of August I will be starting my Doctoral Program in Education Leadership.  This has been a goal of mine for some time and am excited to make it a reality.
Personally:  My husband and I have been married 23 years and have two kids.  We are empty-nesters; sometimes things seem a bit too quiet, but overall we are enjoying our slower pace.  This summer we did go to Key West - just the two of us!
Pets: When our daughter went to college, we became the primary care-givers to her two cats.  I might be spoiling them just a tad and slipping into crazy cat lady.
Exploring: This is my second year as a Loudoun County resident.  I am enjoying the new places and new restaurants.  There's so much to see and do!
