Mrs. Leisha Lucente

Hello Trailside Family!

My name is Leisha Lucente and I am a 7th Grade Social Studies teacher. I'm a Double Duke graduate from James Madison University.  I received my B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Social and Natural Sciences in 2014, and then received my Masters in Middle School Education in 2015.  I love JMU! 

I began my teaching career here at Trailside in the Fall of 2015, and I am so excited to be back for another year!  I love helping students find their voices and ways they can make meaningful contributions to the world.  In addition to empowering my students in the classroom, I am the proud sponsor of Trailside's Girl Up Club, which provides the platform for girls to advocate for women's rights around the world! 

My goal is to help students fall in love with learning and enjoy some history along the way! I also wish to instill a growth mindset that will follow them throughout the course of the rest of their lives. I'm so excited about what we will accomplish this year!  

When not at school I enjoy traveling with my husband, taking long walks with my rescue pup, and snuggling with my baby girl.
