Mrs. Katie Charnley
4th & 5th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Charnley has been teaching for 6 years. Her previous experiences includes teaching 1st and 3rd grade at E. Wilson Morrison in Front Royal, VA. She has also been a cross-category special education assistant in 5th grade and a Special education assistant in kindergarten at Mountain View Elementary in Purcellville, VA.
Mrs. Charnley received her undergraduate degree from James Madison University in interdisciplinary liberal studies with a minor in non-teaching special education and a certification in autism studies. She completed her teaching licensure and Master degree in individualized education from Shenandoah University. Ms. Brennen attended Harvard's Project Zero conference in Boston, MA summer of 2016. With the help of LCPS and MCCS she has continued to improve her education with many professional development classes.
Awards and Nominations:
In 2015 Mrs. Charnley was awarded the VFW Post 1860's Teacher of the Year for promoting citizen awareness. She was recently nominated as one of "The Best in Loudoun" teacher for 2016 and 2017. In the Spring of 2017 she was awarded for the "Chick-Fil-A, Awesome Sauce Teacher of the year" for 2016-2017 school year.
She enjoys being apart of the wonderful MCCS community and is looking forward to a fantastic fourth year!
