Mrs. Sarah Plain

Hello Everyone! :)

My name is Sarah Plain and this year I will be teaching Geometry and Algebra 2/Trig at TMS! I am originally from the Northern Virginia area, growing up in Fairfax County, and then moving south for college. I graduated Longwood University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Education. This will be my nineth year teaching, and my sixth year working in Loudoun County.  I spent the first three years of my teaching career in Louisa County, and then moved back to Northern Virginia where I began my journey as a Trailside Timberwolf! I have absolutely loved my time at Trailside, building strong connections with my students and the community; I am so excited to begin my sixth year!

This past spring, my husband and I welcomed our first child, Charles, to the family. I did not plan to have a baby during a global pandemic, but it sure shows that I am certainly not living to the meaning of my last name! :) This summer I enjoyed every second at home with Charlie and my Scottie Dog, Gus-Gus! I spent my summer relaxing, cooking new recipes, and crafting when I could. I love sewing, crocheting, and scrapbooking!

I absolutely love my profession, and love coming to work each day. Math is a class many students feel afraid of, and it is my goal to make students feel empowered that they CAN do it! Understanding the world of mathematics allows students to make logical connections, be capable problem solvers, improve communication skills, and be more confident learners. It is my goal to ensure each student has walked out of my classroom with these traits. I am looking forward to an exciting year with my students, and cannot wait to see the amazing things they accomplish!
