Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Lindsey Leja
This is my sixth year at Trailside and I am excited for another year with the pack! I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA and bleed black and gold. I graduated from Duquesne University in 2014 with my B.S. in Middle Level Education, concentrating in Reading and Language Arts. In 2016, I completed my Masters in Reading and Language Arts at Duquesne University and obtained my Reading Specialist certification as well.
I am an obsessed dog mom to a four year old Goldendoodle named Rooney and this summer we added another Goldendoodle puppy to our family named Scooter! Besides spending time with Rooney and Scooter, I like to read, play games, watch Steeler football, spend time with family, and workout. I have completed 8 half marathons and many other small races. In the winter I love skiing, especially in Seven Springs, PA.
You can always find me curled up on the couch reading on my kindle as I believe the more we read, the more we know! I hope to instill passion in my students, whether that is in reading or any other interest, hobby, or activity. Teaching language arts allows me to experience the creativity students bring to the table. The most rewarding aspect of teaching is using student curiosity and creativity to think outside the box. It is all about the “ah-ha!” moment. That being said, I am here to work with students, parents, and the faculty to make a positive and caring learning environment at Trailside. Go Timberwolves!
