• The beginning of each school year brings an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation. For Freedom High School, this feeling will be intensified as school stakeholders, which included parents, students, faculty, and staff, prepared themselves for our second accreditation review, culminating with the Quality Assurance Review (QAR) Team visit on February 11-12, 2014. Parental and student involvement is essential to assist us as we go through this process.

AdvancED, the parent organization of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) provides a website (www.advanc-ed.org) that fully details the accreditation process.  Receiving accreditation is a measure of quality that all schools throughout the United States strive to achieve.

The five standards to be assessed are as follows: Purpose and Direction, Governance and Leadership, Teaching and Assessing for Learning, Resource and Support Systems, and Using Results for Continuous Improvement.

Facilitated by School Accreditation chairperson Dr. Michelle Luttrell, this year's accreditation process began in February with Freedom's School Accreditation Team attending the AdvancED Winter School Improvement Conference geared toward getting team members familiar with the accreditation standards and the timeline that will guide Freedom High School through the accreditation process.
