Mrs. West is looking forward to beginning another exciting year. Mrs. West has taught in Loudoun County for the past eleven years.  Mrs. West is honored to have a job that she loves to come to everyday. Mrs. West has also taught first grade in Fairfax County as well as kindergarten and 1st grade in Phoenix, Arizona.   First grade is her favorite and she loves to see the tremendous growth in her students during the school year.

Mrs. West attended James Madison University and upon graduating she began teaching first grade.   At James Madison University she received her degree in Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Education.

When Mrs. West is not teaching she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two daughters.  She also enjoys running marathons.   If Mrs. West is not cheering on her girls at their sporting events, or running she can probably be found reading a good book.

Mrs. West's philosophy  of education is that all children can and will learn. She also believes in hands-on learning. She looks at every moment at school as being a “teachable moment”  and she loves watching children learn.   She looks forward to being a partner with you;  in your child’s education.  Please let Mrs. West know if you have any questions or concerns.  Mrs. West can be reached at Kathleen.West@lcps.org.  Mrs. West is looking forward to an exciting school year!
