Professional Biography Lawrence Wharton
ScienceWelcome to Earth Science at Riverside High School! Mr. Wharton is an eleventh year teacher in Loudoun County and a Riverside Founding Faculty member who came to the science department after over thirty years in business. His business career included ten years with E.I. DuPont de Nemours,Inc. in a variety of financial services, supervisory and sales positions. He was also a small business owner for twelve years and left a ten year banking career to enter the field of education.He graduated from Shenandoah University's Career Switcher Program, and obtained a Masters of Business Administration (marketing-Loyola College, Baltimore, MD), and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and biology from Union College, Schenectady, NY. Outside interests include photography, motorcycles, scuba diving and travel. He is a co-sponsor of the Riverside Alumni Association and the Photography Club as well as being a PBIS Team Leader. and Riversside's Teacher Lead Mentor."The cure for boredom is CURIOSITY.
