• star What is PBIS?

Positive Behavior Intervention and Support is a positive, proactive approach to teaching children appropriate behavior and providing the supports necessary to sustain that behavior. Students are given a clear set of expectations based upon behavioral goals chosen by the staff and administration.

    What is a STAR?

STAR is the framework of the positive behavior program at Belmont Station. Students learn how to show ‘STAR’ behavior in all areas of our school.

    The STAR acronym stands for:

    Self control
    Teamwork
    Acceptance
    Respect

    How is STAR behavior rewarded?

Our goal for PBIS is to continue to provide a safe, effective school environment for our students and to promote the prevention of discipline/behavior problems.  Our school staff will recognize STAR behavior in our building by handing out "STAR Bucks" to individual students and celebrating whole classes that are showing STAR behavior at school.
