Mrs. LoPreto grew up on Long Island in New York, and received her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph's College, majoring in Child Study and Special Education, with a minor in science. She moved to Virginia in 1987 with her husband, where she has worked in elementary, middle, junior high, and high schools for over 20 years as a teacher for students with special needs. She earned her Masters degree from Coppin State University in Instruction and Curriculum. She and her husband have four children and four grandchildren. Mrs. LoPreto has been a Girl Scout leader for 20 years, is currently registered with the Boy Scouts, has coached softball and Odyssey of the Mind teams. She currently works at Tuscarora High School as a resource teacher for Earth Science and Reading Strategies. In her "spare time" she enjoys hiking, gardening/yard work, reading, and spending time with the grandchildren.
