John W. Tolbert proudly joins Loudoun County in the Backpack Coalition Program

Did you know that in Loudoun County alone, there are approximately 11,330 children that are food insecure?  Food insecure is "the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe food."  Last school year, 1 in 6 Loudoun County school children qualified for free or reduced-price school lunches.  What happens to these children when they go home for the weekend?

Backpack Coalition helps to provide food for the weekend to school children who are in need.    Each week we provide a bag filled with 6 meals and 2 snacks plus juice and shelf milk for a child to take home for the weekend.

If you feel your family is in need of assistance from the Backpack Coalition, please contact our School Counselors, Mrs. Mooney (Michelle.Mooney@lcps.org.) or Mrs. McCauley (Stevie.McCauley@lcps.org).
