Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! Math Olympiad  is a club geared toward helping students succeed in higher level math problems. In the club, we will focus on more than just Math Olympiad questions- we will also be competing in Who wants to be a Mathematician, The Math League, AMC 8, and the Continental Math League in addition to the monthly Math Olympiad contests.  Our focus will emphasize logic problems, higher level thinking skills type problems, PSAT problems, and an introduction to material like the Pythagorean theorem and exponents. We will also be conducting math-based experiements using circuits, stomp rockets, and alka seltzer rockets. Math Olympiad is geared toward students of all grade levels. We will meet every Tuesday morning at 7:45 in A12, starting on Tuesday, September 5.

If you are interested in participating, please bring a check for $100 made payable to Belmont Ridge Middle School, and drop it off to A12 or leave it in the main office for Bridget Raburn. If you have any questions, please contact Bridget Raburn at braburn@lcps.org
