Madame Allen

Bonjour!
Madame Kara Allen began speaking French at age 10 when her family moved to Canada.  She also lived in France for several years.  She loves everything about the Francophone world and loves to share that passion and her knowledge of French with her students.
Madame Allen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Secondary Education and her Minor in French Teaching from Brigham Young University.  She is currently the French 1 and 2 teacher at Harper Park Middle School, as well as teaching one French 2 class virtually to Belmont Ridge Middle School students.  Prior to working at HPMS, Mme Allen was an English and French IB high school teacher in Kalispell, Montana.  Before that, she taught high school English and French in Yuma, Arizona, home of the Criminals (yes, that was our mascot!  It is quite the story involving the Yuma Territorial Prison--just ask and she will gladly share it with you!) where she also coached high school volleyball and basketball for seven years.

Madame Allen also loves to play sports (especially basketball and volleyball), work out and run.  She is an avid sports fave, too, for the Nationals (MLB), the Capitals (NHL, the Oilers (NHL), the Jazz (NBA) and the Suns (NBA).  She loves the outdoors (camping and hiking) and baking, reading and writing.  But most of all, she loves to spend time with her husband, her seven children and 5 gradchildren.
