Mrs. Kirsten O'Hara

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  Our Labs keep on retrieving and doing amazing things each and every day!  It is a true joy to be the Principal at Legacy Elementary to be with our Labs each and every day!   As a school community, we are excited to enter our 19th year in the Brambleton Community.

My name is Kirsten O'Hara and I am honored to be your Principal at Legacy Elementary.  My husband and I are both educators and we are proud parents of a freshman in high school  and 7th grader.  When not at Legacy, I am often on the softball field with my daughter or listening to our son in band competitions.  Our family enjoys traveling together and being outdoors.

My career in Loudoun County began at Farmwell Station Middle School, teaching special education; then I moved to Sully Elementary where I taught second, third, and fifth grades.  I was the Assistant Principal at Round Hill Elementary before moving to Legacy Elementary in 2019.

My educational background includes a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration from Longwood College, a Master's of Education from Marymount University and an Education Specialist degree in School Administration from the University of Virginia.

Legacy Elementary strives to prepare each child for their journey of life through academic and social-emotional growth.  Our staff prepare our students to be Contributors, Collaborators, Critical Thinkers, Creators, and Communicators. Our teachers are committed to providing our students with a high quality learning experience focused on the individual needs of each child. We are striving to be creative and innovative in our instruction to engage students in their learning through a variety of hands-on learning opportunities, personalized learning and engaging, high-quality lessons.

This year, we will continue to focus on building connections with our community as we welcome all of our parents and families into our building to see the amazing work of our students and staff.  Our goal is that each parent is able to participate in a meaningful way throughout the school year.

Please don't hesitate to contact me either on (703) 957-4425 or email me at kirsten.ohara@lcps.org.

Sincerely,

Kirsten O'Hara
