• Mrs. Daisy Hughes

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Mrs. Hughes and I teach mathematics at Dominion High School. This year, I will be teaching Algebra 1 and Math Analysis. I earned a Master of Education in Mathematics Education and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Virginia Tech. This will be my sixth year teaching at Dominion!

I enjoy helping students learn skills to think about math concepts creatively, develop problem strategies, justify their reasoning, think abstractly, and make connections between different mathematical representations. I believe that the practice of doing mathematics helps us learn how to think logically and critically in today’s society. I look forward to getting to know all of my fellow mathematicians (students) and to another successful school year!
