Welcome! My name is Mrs. Slack (formerly Ms. Burgin!) and I will be working with your child during Physical Education Class this school year! 

I grew up in Loudoun County, went to Virginia Tech where I earned Bachelor of Arts in Communication. I decided teaching was in my future so I continued my education and went to Emory & Henry College to get my Masters in Education and Physical Education licensure.

Coming from a long lineage of teachers, I feel passionate about helping students improve their self-esteem through physical activity as well as enable students to develop positive attitudes and behaviors towards physical fitness and lifetime sports.

In my free time I enjoy taking and teaching Pure Barre, tap dancing and reading. I also love to bike and hike with my husband as well as play and nap with my Black Lab/Australian Shepherd dog, Lady! I’m looking forward to a GREAT and active school year!
