Hello Eagle Ridge parents and students. Welcome to my information page. This is my 8th year teaching Communications and my 1st year teaching Drama. I've been at Eagle Ridge for the past 14 years--my first six years as a Resource teacher. 
 
I have four blocks of Communications classes this year. It's difficult for me to put into words how much I LOVE teaching this class. Because of the course work involved, each and every year is different. I try to make the class as student-driven as possible. If students want to dive a little deeper on a particular unit, we do. My goal each year is to get my students to become the best communicators they can. I want them to go forward from my class and be able to hold their own in a debate, be able to speak in public without being nervous and to have a deeper understanding of the world events they see around them every day. And yes, we do have fun in this class.
 
Each year I try to have as many communications professionals come in and speak with the class as possible. If you or someone you know is involved in journalism, photojournalism, movie production, advertising, public speaking or any other communications-based industry, please let me know. I'd love to have them come in and speak to my class. I think it's imperative for the kids to hear how what they are learning in class can be applied in real world situations. 
 
 
This year I'm also teaching two classes of Drama. I am very excited about taking on this new challenge. The enthusiasm and excitement of the Drama students is quite contagious. I'm looking forward to helping them learn more about stage craft.
 
As I have done in the past, I have a class Instagram account which I encourage all my students to follow. The account is Eagleharts. 
 
In addition to teaching Drama and Communications, I'm also the faculty advisor to the yearbook and run our morning announcements program. 
 
My planning blocks are 1st and 5th block and my room is located in A29
