Degrees and Certifications:

Dr. Hiller

I am so pleased to be entering my 28th year as a public school teacher. This year, I am looking forward to teaching Physical Science, Grade 8. The course includes various hands-on, interdisciplinary lessons including core labs developed by Loudoun County Public Schools.  In addition, this year we will be participating in personalized learning activities.

My educational background includes a history degree and teaching certificate from Mary Washington University.  I earned a master’s degree in Science Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola College.  Currently, I hold a doctorate in Education from George Mason University with a concentration in research. Some professional highlights include serving as the liaison between Loudoun County and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in 2001-2002 and 2005-2006, earning three consecutive Washington Post grants for math, science, and technology, subcontracting with Harcourt Educational Measurement as a test writer, and teaching research courses through George Mason University.

This year all homework and assignments will be posted through Google Classroom. Please feel free to contact me at suzanne.hiller@lcps.org if you have any questions or concerns.
