Mrs. Clare Freda
Greetings, everyone! This is my fourth year at Buffalo Trail, and I am thrilled to be working here with such amazing students! I came to Buffalo Trail from Lowes Island Elementary School in Sterling, where I worked for almost 2 years before having my son.
Prior to that, I was at Cedar Hill School in Basking Ridge, New Jersey where I taught special education for 13 years. Although it was hard to leave friends and family in New Jersey, I am so pleased to be living and working here in Virginia!
I absolutely LOVE to travel, and two of my most memorable trips have been to Africa. Beside facing my fear of sharks and doing a great white shark cage dive a few hours outside of Cape Town, South Africa, I was fortunate to be able to work at Harnas Wildlife Foundation in the great country of Namibia. There, I was able to care for and interact with (and even sleep with) lions, cheetahs, leopards, baboons, vervet monkeys, caracals, and all sorts of other amazing animals. If anyone is interested in learning more about it or seeing pictures of my adventure, don't hesitate to stop me in the hallway!! I'd love to speak with you about it. I'm looking forward to another great year at Buffalo Trail!
