Estoy disponible para ayudar a las familias que se sienten más cómodas comunicándose en español.

Greetings and welcome to the 2019-20 school year! I've provided academic and community support to to  LCPS students and families since 2008. This year, I look forward to empowering students in several content areas at Broad Run High School.  I grew up in Arlington, VA and earned a B.A. in English from James Madison University. I've lived in the Ashburn community since 1991, and my 3 sons are proud Broad Run Spartan graduates. Seeking a career change, I returned to school and earned a M. Ed. in Curriculum with a concentration in Teaching English to Students with Other Languages from George Mason University.

My philosophy of education is that the classroom is a respectful collaborative community where each individual is supported mentally, emotionally, and socially. Students are empowered to take leadership of their education. I maintain high expectations for every student and view my role as provider of the resources, structures, and scaffolds that may be necessary for every student to have access to learning.I recognize and welcome that each student brings a unique voice, perspective, and specific knowledge base to the classroom

"If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.”
