Mrs. Kristin Musick

I am Kristin Musick and I am the Reading Specialist at River Bend. I will be teaching Reading Strategies Workshop this year. This is my sixteenth year teaching in Loudoun County. I am very excited to be at River Bend Middle School!

I went to Marymount University for my Bachelor's degree with a Virginia teaching license and I went to George Mason University for my Master's degree with a Reading Specialist endorsement. I worked as a Title I teacher assistant at Evergreen Elementary School. I taught for 11 years at Countryside Elementary School before coming to River Bend Middle School.

Reading Strategies Workshop:

In the Reading Strategies Workshop class students will work on reading, spelling, writing about reading, speaking, and listening skills to promote several areas of literacy. Students will listen to the teacher read a book and watch the teacher model reading skills/strategies. Students will read various texts; some of the texts will be self-selected. Students will work on activities that promote improvement in reading fluency, reading comprehension, decoding skills, and expanding reading vocabulary.
