Attention Spanish students:Please come by Spanish club today to celebrate Carnaval! We will be meeting in the cafeteria at 3:30 this afternoon. We hope to see you there!


Come out NEXT Monday to MOD PIZZA for an SCA fundraiser! You must bring the flyer or take a picture of the flyer and present it to the cashier. The Flyers are hung up around school and on the school website.


Come out  this Friday and support Bright Life Buddies at Atomic Trampoline for a fundraiser night! 40% will go back to Bright Life Buddies and, if you stop by Rita’s, 20% will go back to BLB. So put it on your calendars, make a note in your phone to join us this FRIDAY between 6 and 8pm. Look forward to seeing you there with us!  


Attention all chorus students: Don’t forget to come out to the Choir Party at Riverside today from 4-6pm.  There will be food, games and fun.  All chorus students in grades 6-8 are invited to attend as well as current 8th grade students who are interested in taking chorus next year at Riverside.

Tuesday, February 14, 2017 - Happy Valentine's Day! 

Last weekend, students at Belmont Ridge Middle School competed at the regional science olympiad competition, doing events like building Rube Goldberg devices and egg drops. Many students on the team did really well, taking second in optics, taking fourth in invasive species,  taking second in an airplane event, and placing in meteorology. Congratulations to all participants!

Proceeds from the lollipop sales will be donated to the Loudoun County Animal Shelter. You can purchase a lollipop before school and during all lunch shifts. Candygrams will be delivered to homeroom classes on Valentine’s day, February 14th.   Bring in your spare change and do something sweet for homeless animals.

This year, rising 6th graders will be coming with their parents on Feb. 16th at 7:00 pm for the Rising 6th grade information night. We’ll be giving tours to students that night and talking to them about what it’s like to be a middle schooler! Interested??? See Mr. White or Mrs. Scott for an application!

Last Thursday more than 30 students competed in the Belmont Ridge spelling bee. Congratulations to our champion! She will represent Belmont Ridge in March at the Loudoun County spelling bee.

Congratulations to Belmont’s 2017 National Geographic Bee Winner!  There were the 8 finalists of about 1,200 students here at Belmont who competed in the 2017 competition. We wish our winner luck as he moves on to compete against the other Loudoun County Winners of the  2017 Geography Bee!!!!

We are honored to have author Mary Rand Hess visit the library today, to lead a Writing Workshop for Nanowrimo Stars. “Thank you” to the language arts department for the after school workshops and today’s author visit!
