Mrs. Valeria Terrazas

Most students and staff know me as Mrs. T.  Currently, I teach 6th Science and Life Science.  Over the years I have developed a passion for the sciences and all the areas that can be explored.   I began teaching High School in 1988 and being a military wife have had the opportunity to teach in 6 states, working at all levels K-12.  Each position presented a new experience and opportunity to work with students and families from a variety of backgrounds.
In the past, I have coached high school cheerleading and competition cheer, participating in national competition.   Once my daughter became involved in the guard programs; I began working with and coaching Winterguard Teams to include  'Junior' guard and supporting the varsity guard participating in SC State Championships and World Guard International competitions.

My home  state is Illinois the “Land of Lincoln”.   Eastern Illinois University is where I earned my BS. in Education in Special Education and Elementary Education.  Through our travels I continued to advance my knowledge through graduate courses at Eastern Kentucky University and the College of Charleston.  Once in Loudoun County, I  pursued my masters through George Mason University with M.S.. Ed in Instructional Technology.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, needlepoint and playing the piano. I also enjoy experimenting with new recipes; my most recent success are homemade marshmallows and canning tomatoes.   During vacations I love the beach and spending time with my children and grandchildren.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
