Degrees and Certifications:
I am very excited to be starting my 7th year at Lovettsville. I love teaching first grade! Being a teacher gives me the opportunity to fulfill one of my greatest joys - working with and interacting with children. I love that every day my job is different than the day before. Each day is filled with new challenges and adventures. I am excited to continue my adventures with the students and staff at Lovettsville Elementary School!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Shepherd College in 1992 and a Master of Science in Education from Shenandoah University in 1998. This fall will mark the beginning of my 28th year of teaching. I’ve been employed by Loudoun County Public Schools for my entire career with the exception of one year when I taught for the Department of Defense in Seoul, South Korea. I have taught every grade at the elementary level K-5 with the exception of 4thgrade.
I was born and raised in neighboring Jefferson County, West Virginia. I continue to live in Jefferson County with my family which includes my husband, Rodney, who teaches in the math department at Loudoun Valley High School and our two boys, Jackson, age 16 and Rhett, age 14. They keep us busy! When not at school, I'm usually found attending or volunteering at the extracurricular activities my boys participate in - golf, tennis, wrestling and band.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the other members of our family which are our three dogs named Parker, Onyx and Snowball and our two cats, Baby and Cutie Cat. Our cats were named by our boys when they were toddlers and we have never changed them. As you can tell, we love animals!Last Modified on May 30, 2019
