Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Charmayne Bodkin
Welcome to my Trailside Middle School webpage. I am very excited to embark on my fourth year at Trailside Middle School where I am teaching FACS7 and Grade 6 Keyboarding.
I am a proud mother of two children children ages 17 and 19. My daughter is a sophomore at Sweet Briar College where she will be pursuing a degee in International Relations and playing on the soccer team. My son is a senior in high school and is a person with autism. He is my inspiration for choosing a career in eduation. I believe that all children have the ability to succeed and flourish!
I have a bachelors degree from Arizona State University (Go Devils!) in Family Resources and Human Development. I chose to pursue teaching after many years in the retail and banking industry by completing the Career Switcher Program in Virginia. This is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I am the co-advisor for the Trailside FCCLA (Family, Career, Community, Leadership Association). FCCLA is a national Career and Technical Student Organization that provides personal growth, leadership development, and career preparation opportunities for students in Family and Consumer Sciences education. All students enrolled in Family and Consumer Sciences are eligible to join. As members, they have the opportunity to complete projects to complete in the state and national level of FCCLA.
My philosophy is that all students require life skills such as critical thinking, personal finance, nutrition, and cooking and this is my passion!
