Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Lisa Posada
I had the pleasure of joining the Trailside staff the first year it opened and am excited to embark on another year. I believe the most meaningful learning happens when students are actively involved in the process. It is important to me that they enjoy their time at school while seeing the real world importance of what they are taught. I look forward to exploring the connections between literature, my students’ life experiences, and the world. One of the things I appreciate about teaching sixth grade English is that I get to work with my students on both A and B days. This provides me with the opportunity to really get to know them and make their transition to middle school a little easier.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I attended the University at Albany where I earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in English and secondary education and then a Master of Science degree in reading. My dual certification as a secondary English teacher and reading specialist as helped me to meet the needs of all students. As a reading specialist, I have worked with at risk teens at the high school level, self contained English for special education middle school students, and elementary students in need of reading interventions . I have also worked for Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland where I taught their regular education and GT (Gifted and Talented) English curriculum in sixth grade.
Calendar items and assignments will be posted to Google Classroom.
