Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  It is with great excitement that we prepare the class of 2024 for graduation in June.
As we begin this year, we will set goals accentuating a full committment to all we do.  As teachers, we know that our students grow best when they are active, engaged and collaborative.  We look forward to partnering with parents to foster purpose and dedication in all aspects of the education of their children.
We remain dedicated to providing a school that is safe and free of bias.

I wish to encourage our Phoenix community to continue supporting our student programs and an instructional vision for students who are:

    • Independent, collaborative thinkers who embrace diversity (Respect).
    • Honest, empathetic, and passionate human beings of solid character (Integrity).
    • Globally aware citizens who serve their community (Service).
    • Respectful collaborators who honor the positive contributions and experiences of others (Empathy).

As I begin my 34th year in public education, I am more convinced personally and professionally that our students are resilient in the very toughest of times, and remain positive and committed.

I graduated from The Ohio State University and began my career as an English, Math and Drama teacher at La Contenta Junior High School in Yucca Valley. California.  I gained my Master's Degree from Azusa Pacific University and subsequently moved to Virginia and taught English and coached at Broad Run High School.  I became charter faculty in 1997 at Potomac Falls High School where I was appointed as an Assistant Principal in 2002. In 2009, I was appointed as principal at Mercer Middle School where I served for four years. In 2013 (eleven years ago!), I became the principal of Rock Ridge High School.

Being your principal is the pinnacle of my career and I will work to foster a school where students feel supported and successful.

    Go Phoenix!
