Kevin Briscoe - Social Science

Mr. Briscoe teaches Introduction to AP World History and AP Psychology.  He also works with the Rock Ridge Phoenix Debate Team and co-sponsors the Psychology Club and National Honor Society. He has taught in Loudoun for 16 years and, prior to that, for 10 years in Arlington, Virginia. From 2012 to 2014, he worked as the Teaching American History (TAH) project coordinator for Loudoun County Public Schools.

 
Mr. Briscoe earned his B.A. in political science and economics from Northwestern University and holds two graduate degrees - a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) from Georgetown University and an M.Ed. from George Washington University. Prior to starting his career in education, he worked for the U.S. Department of State as a foreign service officer from 1989 to 1996 and served in Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Canada, as well as in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. He earned three meritorious honor awards during that time, two for his service during and immediately after the Gulf War (1990-1991). Mr. Briscoe is a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) since 2001.
 
He lives in Loudoun County with his wife, Alison (also an LCPS teacher), and their two children, Ben and Ellie.
