I look forward to starting my twenty-sixth year of teaching. This is my ninth year at Trailside Middle School. During my career, I have had wonderful times teaching fifth, sixth, and eighth-graders.  I love teaching in the middle school environment.  I believe middle school is the prime time to help students cultivate global understanding, express individuality, and foster beliefs in themselves. 

I graduated from James Madison University earning a bachelor’s of arts degree, as well as a master’s of education degree.  I bleed Purple every Saturday in the fall. Go Dukes! I have a tight-knit family that loves football, big dogs, and Smith Mountain Lake.  We enjoy spending time outside with family and friends. We are constantly on the go and looking for our next adventure.

I am an avid reader and devour books on a daily basis. I especially love keeping up to date with teen literature, so I can have well-rounded discussions with my students. I can’t wait for another new year at Trailside Middle School!
