• Welcome to the Newton-Lee Computer Lab!

    MISSION:

Newton-Lee Elementary School utilizes state-of-the-art technology to personalize the educational experience of our students by developing critical thinking and problem solving skills through project-based learning. We will redefine and transform the way students learn and communicate in the 21st century by promoting innovation, creativity,  and collaboration.

    GOAL:

Our goal is to introduce appropriate uses of technology to complete projects in language arts, math, science, and social studies. In Loudoun County, we integrate technology in the students’ lessons; technology is not intended to be a stand-alone discipline.  According to the Virginia Department of Education, the end goal is not to use more technology but to use technology more effectively to meet educational goals.

     CLASS TIME:

Kindergarten through fifth grade classes come to the Newton-Lee Computer Lab once a week for 30 minutes.  Additionally, second through fifth grade classes are scheduled for iReady Math once a week in the lab.

    RECYCLING PROGRAM:

Newton-Lee Recycles!  If you would like to donate, we collect cell phones and used inkjet and lasterjet cartridges. Bring them to the Computer Lab.  Periodically, we send these off in return for money or credit that is put back into the technology budget and used at Newton-Lee. All brands and types of cartridges and cell phones are accepted.
