Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Tricia O'Connell
I am excited to begin my fifth year at Trailside Middle School working with students, parents, and teachers as we continue learning and growing as a community. I am starting my fifteenth year with LCPS and am an inaugural member of the Trailside staff.
I love guiding and advocating for middle schoolers as they grow academically, socially, and physically over three short years in middle school. I believe all students need opportunities to be successful, will achieve given a supportive learning environment, and need to have fun each day at school. Our focus on Personalized Learning allows this to happen for our students.
All students need learning experiences that are personalized, engaging, and have the child at the center of their own learning. This allows all kids to keep growing as critical thinkers, communicators, collaborators, creators, and contributors –in order to make meaningful contribution to the world.
I have a Bachelors of Arts degree in both Communications and English from Rutgers College in New Jersey. I also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Sul Ross University in Texas along with a Master in Education Leadership degree from George Mason University.
On a personal note - I am the proud parent of three children, all of whom have graduated from Loudoun County Public Schools. Seeing my children’s unique experiences within LCPS from the vantage point of a parent has provided me perspective to advocate for all students and families.
I am an avid traveler and learner. In my spare time, I travel with my family to as many new places as possible. I also love to read and spend time outside.
I am available at any time to help you or your child with any questions and/or concerns you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact me at (571) 252-2280 or email me at email@example.com.
