• P.O.U.N.C.E. is the name of the program for rising 6th grade students at Mercer during the summer. Its name is an acronym for "Preparing Our Unique and New Children for Excellence."
    What is P.O.U.N.C.E.?
    The P.O.U.N.C.E. program will introduce students to the daily routine at Mercer Middle School, including locker assignments, the A/B day bell schedule and navigating the hallways. Students will have four, 40-minute classes each day which focus on the middle school way of life at Mercer and becoming familiar with its expectations. On the last day of P.O.U.N.C.E. program, students will participate in culminating activities, including pizza and ice cream parties, while having an opportunity to share what they have learned with their parents.
    P.O.U.N.C.E. includes:
    • Study Skills;
    • Building Orientation ("Amazing Race");
    • Drama/Theater;
    • Physical Education;
    • R.O.A.R. (PBIS Program);
    • Art; and,
    • Technology.
    For 2019, Mercer Middle School is offering P.O.U.N.C.E. two different weeks before school begins: 
    • July 29th-August 2nd, 8:30-11:30 am
    • August 5th-9th, 8:30-11:30 am (FULL)

    Registration for POUNCE starting February 5, 2019.  Registration closes June 1, 2019
