WELCOME TO 7th and 8TH GRADE LANGUAGE ARTS WITH MRS. PETERSON!

Mrs. Peterson is certified to teach all grades with a specialty in English on the secondary level. She has her master's degree and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!).  After teaching for six years in Connecticut, she came to Virginia to teach in Stafford County for

twelve years. She then moved to Loudoun County when Belmont Ridge opened.  She remained there for three years before coming to Eagle Ridge!  Mrs. Peterson believes her role is that of a facilitator in the classroom. Enthusiasm and creativity in a dynamic environment are the keys to active learning.

Mrs. Peterson is also a parent. Together with her husband, she has raised four children who have gone through the Virginia higher education system. Therefore, she can identify with parents and understands the unique characteristics of a middle school child from both a teacher and a parent perspective.

Mrs. Peterson believes communication between parent and teacher is vital to a successful year. She uses Google Classroom for assignments and correction of on-line student work. Links to this are found on Google Calendar links to the left on this page. She encourages parents to call or email her at the first sign of a question or concern. Mrs. Peterson is looking forward to sharing with her students an exciting  year of exploration!
