    Students attend the AOS on alternating days.  Students take science, math, and research courses at the Academy and all other subjects at their home school on the opposite day.  This schedule enables students to maintain involvement in academic and extra-curricular activities at their home school while participating in a research-based challenging math and science program. 
     
    CAMPUS is an academic and college preparation program designed to meet the specific needs of historically underrepresented students and first generation college students in Loudoun County.  Students apply in the spring of their eighth grade year or during the fall of grades 10-11.  CAMPUS  seeks to provide support and encouragement to students who demonstrate the ability to achieve academic success and college admission.
     

    Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST): https://www.tjhsst.edu/

    A unique Fairfax County public school that provides an innovative, specialized learning environment for selected students. A Virginia Regional Governor's School, TJHSST currently is open to students from Fairfax, Arlington, Fauquier, Loudoun, and Prince William counties and Falls Church City
     
    The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services provides recreational, educational and cultural services for residents of all ages through park programs, community centers, day care service, before and after school programs, sports leagues for youth and adults, programs for people with special needs, and the Area Agency on Aging.

    (Tutor Lists!!!)A place where parents and professionals can come to learn about a variety of disabling conditions, the special education process, and resources available to special needs students and their families or families whose children are experiencing difficulties in school, home or the community. The center provides a variety of workshops, maintains a lending library, and offers consultations regarding educational issues and community services. The emphasis through all phases of the center's programs is the establishing of positive partnerships between parents and educators.

    Operates the only comprehensive Information & Referral Help Line in the county. The Help Line provides FREE information on health and human services, community resources, and much more! The Help Line is available 9:00A.M.-5:00P.M., Monday – Friday and is also available in Spanish.
     
    Loudoun County Youth Initiative: www.loudounteens.org
    Committed to coordinating and implementing Loudoun County's substantial resources to address challenges identified by Loudoun's youth in the areas of leisure and extracurricular recreational and social activities; the enormous community change resulting from Loudoun County's exceptional growth and changing demographics; and access to public transportation, which is oriented to the diverse needs of Loudoun's youth; and the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; group intimidation, including gang activity.

    Encourages parent involvement in the education of their children. The Parent institute had a wide variety of free on-line resources for parents as well as publishing a variety of materials including newsletters, booklets, audio CDs, brochures, videos and presentation kits.

    Career and Technical Education focuses on seven major career fields: agriculture, business and information technology, health and medical sciences, family and consumer sciences, marketing, technology, trade and industry. Career and Technical Education is a springboard to immediate employment for many high school students and helps youngsters prepare for college and other postsecondary education.
