Ms. Healey began her career in the Cosmetology field as a student in the Fairfax County Public Schools Cosmetology Career and Technical Education Program. She received her license of Cosmetology in 1983 and went on to work behind the chair as well as experience many diverse opportunities in the Fashion and Beauty Industry, to include Technical Educator for Goldwell International Cosmetics and Artistic Manager where she managed and coordinated hair and makeup designs for music videos, editorial/session work and fashion shows and runway work. She went on to become a licensed Instructor of Cosmetology and a licensed esthetician in the state of Virginia.
During the intervening years her love of teaching and her enthusiasm for the success of her students has resulted in teaching opportunities in a number of private and public school settings. For the last decade Ms. Healey has been a Master Instructor at the Graham Webb Academy Washington DC where she trained a significant number of students in Beginning Cosmetology to meet board certification requirements in VA, MD and DC. She was also responsible for Advanced Education Programs, Peer Training and curriculum development.
Ms. Healey Has earned numerous awards and recognition for her work. She is active in the Association or Career and Technical Education (ACTE) and the Association of American Cosmetology Schools (AACS). Ms. Healey also owns and operates her own hair studio in Old Town Alexandria, KMH Studio.
