Summer events and activities going on in and around Ashburn.

Most are free or very reasonably priced.




Summer Concert Series


Brambleton has the Sizzlin' Summer Concert Series - Concerts begin on 6/22 and runs through the summer.  Near Brambleton Town Center.  Gates open at 6:00pm and Concerts begin at 7:00pm. Free.


Herndon has Friday Night Live.  Concerts began Friday night 5/5 and run through the end of August. Held on the Town Green in Downtown Herndon.  Begins at 6:30pm.  Free.


One Loudoun has Rocknoceros, Live on The Plaza, Mondays at 11am beginning June 5th.  Free.  They also have Acoustic Wednesdays from 6-8pm.  Free.


Broadlands Live Fridays May 12th, June 9th, July 14th & August 11th.  5pm-9:30pm.  Located at Hillside Park on Waxpool Road.  Free.


South Riding Summer Concerts has the Groovin’ on the Greens Concert Series Fridays through the summer beginning June 23rd 7:00pm – 9:30pm.  Located on the Town Green (43055 Center Street).  Free.


Loudoun Station has Summerbration outdoor movies and concerts.  June 3rd is the Kickoff.  June 4th through August 27th.  Movies:  1st, 3rd & 5th Sundays; Concerts: 2nd & 4th Sundays.  Free.

Summer Family Friendly Movies


Many theatres off free or reduced price movies during the summer; check theatre websites for dates, times and movie titles.


Movie Nights Under the Stars:  3rd Friday of each month at Ida Lee Park in Leesburg.  Begins Friday May 19th with “Annie”.  Movies begin at dusk (between 8:15pm-8:45pm).  Free.

Regal’s Summer Movie Express:  $1 family-friendly movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10am beginning June 13th.  Regal Fox Theatre located at 22875 Brambleton Plaza in Brambleton.


Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at One Loudoun Summer Kids Camp ($1, $3 or $5)

Cobb Village 12 Cinemas Kids Summer Movie Escape; 10:00am Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.  FREE (Concessions $)


Arts and Crafts


Michael's Camp Creativity  $5/session or $12/3 sessions; Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 10:00am – Noon; June 12 through July 28


A.C. Moore Kids Crafternoon $2 per project.  Every Wednesday June 28th through August 2nd  1pm to 3pm.




Bowl America offers the Summer Blast Pass (Dranesville) Free – register for the summer program for free games for students and parents; bring your report card with A’s on it to receive extra free games:

Spend time at local parks


Learn more about our local parks including the WO&D trail:  The Washington & Old Dominion Regional Park Trail is a multiuse biking, hiking and horseback-riding trail that runs through Ashburn on its 45-mile course from Shirlington to Purcellville. The 100-foot-wide, paved trail accommodates beginners and expert cyclists.


Arts in the Parks Free.  Wednesdays and Saturdays.
