•          Welcome to Preschool! My name is Caroline Delaney and I am part of the Horizon preschool team.  My position is special because I teach the students in my class at Claude Moore Community Center in their beautiful preschool.   While Horizon is still my official school, on a daily basis you will find me at Claude Moore.

This year will be my fifth year teaching preschool in LCPS.  I have had seven years of teaching experience before I came to Horizon.  After I received a degree from James Madison university (Go Dukes!) in special education, I taught children with a variety of disabilities in Fairfax County.  While working, I earned a Masters degree in Early Childhood Special Education from George Mason University in Early Childhood Special Education.  After completing that, I began my favorite part of teaching, working with the ECSE preschool children and their families!

I live right here in Sterling with my husband and 3 children.  When my first child was born, I decided to stay at home and stop teaching.  My children attend LCPS schools, and I was able to see the schools from a parents point of view. I loved staying busy with them and volunteering at their school.   After ten years, I began substitute teaching and realized how much I had missed the classroom and students.  I am so happy to have found a home at Horizon to call my own and be back in the classroom with the children full time!

When I am not here, you may find me at sports events watching my children play.  I love to take my puppy on walks and stay close with family and friends.  I am so excited for a GREAT year!
