Welcome to Mrs. Miller's Kindergarten Class!Hello and welcome to First Grade! My name is Mrs. Kirsten Miller and I am currently entering my 24th year as an elementary school teacher. Kindergarten is a wonderful, new, and exciting time for children and families. Each year proves to be an exciting time for me as well. My family and I moved to Virginia and to the Loudoun County area in 2006 to take advantage of the occupational and educational opportunities that Loudoun County offers.I spent my first 11 years teaching first grade students in the Toledo Public School System. My first year with Loudoun County Schools I taught Kindergarten at Sully Elementary, than happily moved back into a first grade classroom for 6 years. I then had the opportunity to transfer closer to my home as a first grade teacher at AES (2013-14 school year). I am a former graduate from the University of Toledo (Ohio) where I received a Bachelor of Education (1993) and a Masters of Education Degree (2000). I also hold my reading specialist endorsment. As a parent, I know how important your child's education is to you. My goal for your child is to create a safe, fun, and challenging learning environment. I hope together we will be able to achieve this. I look forward to this new year and to meeting you and your children. Welcome!
