    Shelley Canonico
is a Loudoun County native, who graduated from Broad Run High School in 1998.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from George Mason University.  Following her undergraduate studies, she continued to Shenandoah University where she obtained her Masters in Education and teaching license.  Shelley taught Business and CTE at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA for three years.  During this time, she discovered her love for students with disabilities, and went back to school to earn her Master's Degree in Special Education, specifically Moderate to Severe Disabilities.  She then spent the next 7 years teaching these special students at South Lakes High School.

Shelley moved to John Champe High School in it's second year (2013), and is loving her time as a Knight!  She teaches students with Intellectual and Multiple Disabilities, and has enjoyed watching the program grow from 3 students her first year, to 35 students for the 2016-2017 school year.

Shelley is also the Varsity Cheerleading Coach at Champe, and enjoys spending her time with her team throughout the year.  She lives one mile from the school, and enjoys her time not at Champe with her husband, two young boys (6 and 4), and puppy.
