Mrs. Cohen
Reading Specialist
This is Mrs. Cohen's fourteenth year as a Reading Specialist at Eagle Ridge Middle School. Prior to her career as a Reading Specialist, she taught second grade for both Fairfax County Public Schools and Anne Arundel County Public Schools, worked as a Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening (PALS) tutor for Loudoun County Public Schools, taught private literacy classes, and provided seminars at area private preschools on literacy development. Mrs. Cohen earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from University of Maryland, College Park in 1991 and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction (Literacy/Reading Specialist) from George Mason University in 2005.
Mrs. Cohen lives in Ashburn with her husband. She has a 20 year old son who is a junior at Virginia Tech, and she has a 22 year old daughter who is in graduate school at James Madison University.
