Addie Schafer - Third Grade TeacherAddie Schafer grew up in Loudoun and is the oldest of six (two are dogs). She has loved working with kids my whole life! She has her B.A. in English and Theatre as well as her M. Ed. in Elementary Education Pre-K-6th from William and Mary with an emphasis in teaching literacy. She managed an after-school franchise, Drama Kids International which used drama to teach socialization and public speaking skills for ages 3-18 years old. Recently she was teaching English in Malaysia on a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) government grant for the year. She learned the local dialect called "Kelate" that the students speak as well as conversational Bahasa Melayu, the official language, of Malaysia. She ran after-school co-curricular programs including drama, chorale speaking, and English clinics for additional cultural exchange, a cumulative environmental unit local beach clean up project, school-wide competition for a selective confidence-building talent show day, as well as a girls' empowerment workshop with guest speaker, and an additional US Embassy Grant funded program to build the school English library. Addie loves singing, dancing, acting, being active, and is excited to be a Colt teaching 3rd grade this year! Go colts!
