Gonzalo Gallardo (gah-YAR-doh) currently teaches Spanish II & AP. He was born and grew up in Lima, Peru. After completing high school, he studied guitar performance at the Manhattan School of Music, and completed the Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, at Cornell University. Dr. Gallardo conducted his graduate studies at The Florida State University: he holds a master's in Spanish, a graduate certificate in World Music, a master's in musicology, and both a master's and a doctoral degree in guitar performance. As an educator, he has taught elementary and intermediate Spanish at FSU; among his musical activities, he has developed a new music-reading system for beginning guitarists.
Dr. Gallardo is enthusiastic about interdisciplinary and culturally-informed teaching, and believes that learning should be simple and fun at all levels of instruction.
