Melissa is a special educator in her eighteenth year of teaching. She obtained a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and has her masters in Special Education.  She has taught all grade levels from preschool to grade five in both general and special education. Four years ago, she took a leap in her teaching as she entered the high school level and has never looked back.

When Melissa is not in school, you can find her being beat in UNO by her nine-year-old daughter and desperately trying to learn how to fly in Minecraft from her eleven-year-old son. Melissa also enjoys presenting with her husband at different state conferences on the subjects of universal design for learning, Twitter in the classroom, audio stories and podcasting.
